We all here at Deaf Spotlight are feeling the siren call of the summer.. That is, when the unpredictable Seattle weather allows the sun through. Neverthless, we all love the Pacific Northwest , and continue to wear our rainboots with pride.
First I’d like to announce the appointment of a new Executive Director of Deaf Spotlight, Patty Liang. Congratulations! Joshua Jones shares a terrific, mouth-watering review of his experience at The Herbfarm, complete with photos of food that belong in four-star restaurants. I had the opportunity to interview Crystal Green about her new business Euphemeral Designs, and really enjoyed seeing the results of her hard work, the lovely furniture and smalls that she sells, and hearing about the unique challenges she experiences as a Deaf small business owner. echo greenlee submitted her deafREVIEW monthly submission – which reminds me – it’s glasses shopping time – they add a dash to any outfit! Deaf Street Style brings us the stylin’ Darren Frazier, world traveler. I was also thrilled that Amateur Deaf Chef, Chad Ludwig, was glad to share with us one of his infamous recipes in the video on the right of the screen. Yummy! Ryder’s sharp eyes bring us a photo of some interesting graffiti on 8th Ave in the University District and last but not least, TADA! chipped in to share with you some information about interpreted plays this month in “eyes on the stage”.
Enjoy playing in the sun, all of you, but do share with us your artistic endeavors – photos, photos of artwork, poetry, videos, and whatnot. I’m thrilled to hear from you and have the opportunity to share with everybody your talent. Please remember to contact me if you are interested in submitting something - we want the opportunity to showcase the talent out there in the
See you next month,
Katie Roberts
