We here at Deaf Spotlight would like to say farewell to Rob Roth, the former Executive Director of Deaf Spotlight who is now turning over his gavel to Patty Liang.

Patty Liang has taken a vital role in the organization since the beginning. Her excellent organization skills and her dedication to the vision of Deaf Spotlight have been invaluable to the organization since it was founded.

Note from the Executive Director:

This month is a milestone that marks when Deaf Spotlight became a non-profit, having hosted many events, initiated new programs, and garnered support and awareness for the arts within two years.  In the beginning, Rob Roth's ‘initiative set the momentum rolling with Jason Plourde and Howie Seago, eventually drawing from our community to spark our inspirations and creativity, resulting into the Seattle Deaf film Festival. With much regret, Rob has stepped down from his position as the Executive Director to pursue other interests. While Deaf Spotlight's first chapter closes with Rob Roth's legacy, this signals an opportunity to write a new chapter with innovative projects and ideas.
I am eager to take on the responsibilities as the executive director of Deaf Spotlight, even with such big shoes to fill. We will embark into new directions incorporating radical ideas and collaborative projects that inspire us.  I look forward to participating and partnering with theaters, peers, artists, and supporters like you through creative outlets as the new Executive Director of Deaf Spotlight.

We are thrilled to have her continue working with us. Welcome, Patty!
